James (Jim) Delaney
Funeral Director 25 + years
It's been nearly thirty years since I attanded mortuary school in Toronto. Since that time, I've been licensed and employed by some of Ontario's busiest funeral providers, before returning home to Nova Scotia where I also received my license to practice.
Following a rewarding career with the former Loewen Group, I opened the first economical alternative to the traditional funeral home in Halifax and later Saint John, NB. Once popularity grew, I had continous issues with the board who was not only chaired by, but primarily made up of traditional funeral home owners. Through industry pressure, I closed my Halifax office and sold my interests in New Brunswick to my colleague there. I then relocated to Florida where I also earned my Associate's Degree in Science, thus obtaining a license to practice and took on the responsibility of managing a central care centre overseeing the embalming, transporting and/or shipping of more than nineteen hundred loved ones annually.
Eventually I returned to Cape Breton and have been associated with Forest Haven since 2012 where I plan on being until my own retirement.
I feel I have more than enough experience to assist and guide you through what is probably the most difficult time in your life.
