Thomas Gouthro

April 30, 1952 — November 18, 2021

As I sit here in dads chair, putting my thoughts to words, I am frequently stopped to listen to all the stories from family and friends being told around our kitchen table.  If there is one thing we can take comfort in during this difficult time it’s that our dad was a very loved and highly thought of man. He was a great husband, father, grandfather, & wonderful friend to all.  He couldn’t do enough for people, always wanting to help however he could, it brought him tremendous joy.

Dad passed away at home Thursday Nov 18th with the love of his life, Peggy, by his side.  Mom and dad were inseparable, married for 45 years. They raised 5 kids whom they were very proud of. Dad instilled all his great qualities in each one of us, especially his stubbornness. We. All. Got. It. He taught us all to work hard for what we want, do things right the first time, & always be early.

Dad was born April 30, 1952 in Frenchvale to the late Martin Wilfred & Mary Lucy Gouthro. He worked for many years for the Dept. of Highways until his retirement.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Peggy (Sullivan) Gouthro; his sister Regina Cann; his 5 children Wade (Shari) Gouthro, Tracy (Jeff) Rose, Hannah (David Musgrave) Gouthro, Melissa Gouthro, & Martin Gouthro; his 11 grandchildren Travis, J.T.,Hailey, Emma, Samantha, Alexandria, Dylan, Alexis, Hunter, Sarah, Maggie; his 2 little buddies Asher & Dudly; his life long “best bud” Melvin Johnson; his godson Troy Cann; & many nieces & nephews.

Dad was predeceased by his parents; his twin brother Freddy, his sisters Mildred, Josephine, & Martina.

Dad was a man who knew what he wanted and lived his life accordingly. No one told him what to do or how to do it. He was a stubborn man with a huge heart. He will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dads wishes were to be cremated, which is fitting because if you knew dad then you knew how much he loved the heat. He also wanted to be buried beside his brother Freddy at St. Mary’s in Frenchvale.  Service will be held Dec 4th 11am, St. Mary’s Parish, Frenchvale.

Dad, do not worry about mom, she is in great hands.
