Margaret "Jane" Anderson

June 18, 1945 — July 21, 2020

Anderson (Chisholm) Margaret "Jane"  Age 75 of Saint Patrick's Channel, Cape Breton.

Jane passed away peacefully in the arms of her devoted husband Allen and loving daughter Jennifer after a lengthy battle with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she passed away at home where she wished to be, surrounded by love and those who love her.

Jane was in her younger years very involved with Kinettes.  She belonged to both the Kentville and the Lower Sackville clubs and was the President of the Lower Sackville club from 1984-1985.  She was an avid member of Greenwood United Church.    Jane started her career as a hairdresser working at her mother's shop "Joanne's" on Charlotte Street in Sydney.  She later became a real estate agent for Century 21 Classic in Dartmouth.  She also managed  Hickory Farms stores in the Halifax Metro area.  She loved to entertain, bake, cook, sew, knit and home decorate.  Spending time with Jane was always filled with good food, good times and lots of laughter and love.

She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Joan "Nixie" Chisholm of Sydney, her brother Roger of Moncton and brother Curtis in infancy.  Jane is survived by her husband of 54 years, Allen; sons Brad (Paula) of Baddeck and Chris of Guelph and daughter Jennifer (Mathieu) of Iqaluit.  She is also survived by grandchildren Logan and Kenzley, Orrin and Lily, Annie, Erica and Grace and great-grandchildren Eleanor Jane and Malachai, all of whom were the apples of her eye.  Jane left behind her lifelong friends Dolores MacCormack of Sydney and Janet Proctor of Antigonish.

The funeral is to be held at Greenwood United Church, Baddeck on August 3, 2020. Due to Covid-19 restrictions funeral attendance will be by invitation only.

Jane's family thanks the palliative care team of Dr. John Ritter and nurses Paulette, Lisa, Cathy, Zelda and Marilyn as well as her specialist Dr. David Brake.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Jane's memory to the Hospice Society of Victoria County or Greenwood United Church.
