Lois Barrington - Blackett’s Lake

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lois at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on Monday, April 20, 2020. Born in Sydney, she was a daughter of the late Wilfred and Frances (MacDonald) MacDougall.
Lois is survived by her beloved husband Robert “Bob” Barrington; sisters Frances Momberquette; Joan Dota; Carolyn MacQueen and Kate Burke, sisters in law Frances (late George), Judy (Vince), Susan (George; brothers in law Mike (Marie); Frank (Sandra); Doug (Bernadette); Gerald (Sheila); Bruce (Joy); as well as several nieces and nephews.
Lois will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by family and friends whom she always greeted with hugs, a smile and of course a cup of tea. She loved gatherings at Blackett's Lake, she especially enjoyed Christmas. She would spend weeks decorating with skill and patience to the delight of those who would visit her home.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by brother Gerald MacDougall; sister Shirley Taylor; Mother and father in law Frank and Vicky Barrington; brother in law Joe; sisters in law Franklyn and Loretta Barrington. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. As per her wishes, there will be no visitation or service to follow. The family would like to sincerely thank everyone who cared for Lois during her short stay in the Regional Hospital. Memorial donations in Lois’s memory may be made to the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Foundation. Expressions of sympathy to the family can be made by visiting www.foresthaven.ca
