Jeremias Carol (McCabe) MacDonald December 25, 1940 – June 24, 2020. Peacefully with her “baby boy” at her side, we say farewell to “Mom” from her children, “Mommy Dearest” from Heather-Ann, “Aunt Jerry” from her nieces and nephews especially Kathy and Michelle and “Sister” from Barbara. Above all, we sadly say goodbye to a kind-hearted friend of everyone in her life. No different than most people, her life was filled with ups and downs. However, her glass remained half full. We will all miss Jerry McCabe’s contagious optimism.

Jerry’s is survived by her children Jamie Sulliman and Heather-Ann (Mommy’s Dearest) Dunrobin, On. Celeste Sulliman (Paul Marshe) Fall River N.S., Doug Sulliman (Barbara) Rye, N.Y., Sister Barbara (Aubrey), seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and countless nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents William and Celeste (Donovan) McCabe, siblings Bill (Greta), Joe, Sheila (Bill), husband James Colin MacDonald, and soul mate/best friend Ralph Cuff a.k.a. “Cuffie”.

Jerry was born in Glace Bay to William and Celeste (Donovan) McCabe. Her stories told were all fond memories of her childhood. Especially her undying love for her best and life-long friend Maureen Leslie (Speranzo). Her adult career in Heath Records at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital was enjoyable because “I loved my boss Ann MacLeod”. Mom’s career spanned from 1973 to 1997, she would have worked longer but explained “computers and me don’t get along, they just don’t float my boat’.

Thank you, Joan, for always being there for Mom as well as Perley, Annette and Richard for all the errands and care.

Jamie and Heather express sincere thanks to the Province of Nova Scotia for supporting Jamie’s compassionate visitation exception request and the dignity and compassion we received from local social workers and front line medical staff.

Mom “Mommy Dearest” will be laid to rest at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. In place of flowers, donations are welcome to support Palliative Care “An Cala” or a charity of choice. We miss you already, it’s sad to see you go. Heaven has a place for you Mom, I know you will watch over us all.

Expressions of sympathy may be sent to www.foresthaven.ca
