We, the children of Gordon Henry McLean of Sydney, sadly announce his passing on Saturday, July 3rd, 2021 at Harbourstone Enhanced Care "Fishermans Cove" following a brief illness.
Born in Sydney on June 3rd, 1931 to the late Alex and Rose (James) McLean, he was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his children Norma Creaser (Larry) Halifax, Dorothy Hardy (Bruce), Sydney, Susan Saunders (Barry) Oshawa, Patricia McLean, Florida, Jeff McLean (Krista), Glace Bay, Michaelan McLean, Halifax and his grandchildren Stephen and Tracy Creaser; Adam, Lana and Matt Hardy; Jeremy Saunders and Angela Barker; Devon McLean and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters-in-law Frances McLean and Kay McLean. He was predeceased by his sisters, Muriel McLean, Phyllis Ferguson, Eileen Ramsay and Audrey (in infancy) and brothers James (Junior) and Wilfred McLean.
Dad worked in the local automotive business for 52 years with extended tenures at Eddy MacDonald Motors, Jim Quirk Motors & Breton Toyota.
As per Dads Wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Please feel free to "have a shot or 2" of good scotch whiskey in his memory. Private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
