Eric Chiasson

It’s with unbelievable sadness that we announce that John (ERIC) Chiasson gently passed away
surrounded by love on November 6 th ,2021 at the age of 78. Born on September 5 th 1943, he was the son
of the late John and Henriette (Leblanc) Chiasson. He is survived by his love Collena Chipman (Aucoin)
and his 5 children, Jacqueline (Tammy Goodwin), David (Brenda), Claude (late wife Soojung), Darlene
(Gibby)McPherson, Donna (Russell) Clarke and his grandchildren Lauren, Jarrod, Samantha, Justin,
Jayden, Jarrett, Jordan, Kristen, Braeden and countless nieces and nephews. He’s also survived by his
brothers Lenny (Raylene), Ronnie (Jacques), Charlie (Noreen), Stevie (Hilda) and his sisters Linda (Shelly)
Campbell, Priscilla (Robert) Putnam. He was also predeceased by siblings Stephen and Marie Therese in
infancy. He loved us all.

Eric had a long career with the military (30yrs - 15 with the 22 nd regiment) militia (8yrs) and his beloved
Fortress of Louisburg (20yrs). Eric finally lost his final battle with cancer but he put up a jovial fight over
the course of 15 years and 4 cancers. Anyone who had the good fortune to have known him will most
likely never forget that whistle of his. He had a big heart and although he didn’t always have many
words, he was happy to share and give of his time to help others. He will be truly missed by all of us.

A celebration of Eric’s life will take place on Sunday November 28 th , 2021 between 2-4 pm at the Branch
12 Legion located at 101 Dorchester St. Sydney, NS. Due to Covid everyone will require proof of
vaccination an ID and wear a mask. Come casual and be prepared to share a photo or story.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Branch 12 Legion or the SPCA.
