Constance "Connie" Noreen (Spracklin) Fudge

September 26, 1936 ~ February 12, 2021 (age 84)

Constance Noreen Fudge, age 84, passed away peacefully on Feb. 12 after a courageous battle with cancer.  The daughter of Annie and Sidney, she was born in Whitney Pier, and was predeceased by her sisters Lois, Helen and brother Garfield.   She married her husband Daniel in June 1952, who preceded her in death in 2009.  They met while working at David’s Grocery Store on Charlotte Street.  In later years she went on to work at the IGA and Island Crafts.  She was a very social person and loved meeting and talking with people and always had a friendly smile.

Connie loved to look after people and had such a big heart.  Even up to her last weeks, she was worried about friends and family.  She was always thinking about others and many will remember her dropping off food, especially her fudge by Mrs. Fudge to cheer people up.  She was an excellent baker and shared her love of food by always cooking wonderful homemade meals. She passed her recipe secrets on to all her children and we can only hope to recreate them with the same love she made them with.

Her life is an example of the bible verse Ephesians 4:32 – “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”

She is survived and will be deeply missed by her four children: David (Joan); Shauna (Robert); Parker and Keith(Jill), four grandchildren, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  She was so blessed to have her friend & neighbor Pat Drohan for over 50 years and who were inseparable the last 10 years keeping each other company after their husbands passed away.   She was grateful to have the Abraham’s as wonderful neighbors and were in her thoughts until going into the hospital.

Connie loved to have little travel adventures, but was a Sydney, Cape Breton girl at heart and loved life on the Island.  She enjoyed getting together with the ladies brunch club on her social network.

The siblings would like to thank their caring brother Parker for looking after mom right up until Sunday in the family home before going to palliative care at the CB Regional.

We hope to have a celebration of her life later in the year when travel and socializing can be done safely.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the palliative care unit at CB Regional Hospital.
