Yvonne Deborah Devison

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Yvonne Deborah (Debbie) Devison on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Born December 23, 1948 in Sydney, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Marion (Willis) Reid.

Debbie was a retired teacher who taught thousands of children over the course of her career. She would still run in to former students who recognized her all these years later. In her retirement she enjoyed playing word puzzles/games with friends, loved having wave petunias in the summer, sitting in the sun on her patio, singing along to Motown hits and having a laugh.

Debbie will be deeply missed by her loving daughters, Amanda (Christian) and Susan (Peter); her beautiful grandchildren William and Brianna; her sister Phyllis; her nieces and nephews Jason, Charlene, Arnold & Nicole; and her best friend Norma.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was predeceased by her sister Gaye and brother-in-law Earle Lewis.

By Debbie’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place under the care of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
