William "Butch" Nega

September 21, 1954 — October 6, 2019

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Henry (Butch) Nega at the CBRH on Sunday October 6th 2019.
Born in GB, he was the son of Carmel and the late William Nega. Butch is survived by his partner Mary Kay (MacKeigan), daughter Chantelle, his mother Carmel, sisters Debbie Dean (Albert) - GB, Sharon Woodford - Calgary, Jocelyn (Dave Evans) -BC, his brothers Darrel - GB and Adam (Leah) - Calgary. Also to mourn are many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.
Butch was predeceased by his father Bill, grandparents Clem & Elizabeth Verge and Adam & Maggie Nega.
In his younger years, Butch was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Cadets GB where he reached the level of Warrant Officer. He also taught ground search & survival courses and participated in many rifle competitions.
Butch was a carpenter by trade but also made a career in the banking industry.
In 1989 he moved to Toronto to continue his banking career until his return back home in 2008 where he resided in Dominion.
Butch loved music, dancing, was a Toronto Maple Leafs fan and animal lover, but most of all, loved camping and darts.
He was a member of the Dominion Fire Dept mixed dart league and was voted Sportsman of the year in 2010/11, an award he was very proud of. He will certainly miss his dart companions and friends at the Dominion Hawks Club.
We will undoubtedly miss his love, support and most of all his sense of humor.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jennifer Lange for her many years of care, Dr. Szabo & Dr.Archibald and the nursing staff of the CBRH, and the staff of New Waterford Hospital, as well as the VON. Their kindness and compassion has been greatly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation as per his wishes. A small church service will be held on Friday October 11th 2019 at St. Pauls Presbyterian Church at 11:00 with Rev. Bonnie Wynn officiating. Luncheon to follow. Online condolences may be sent to www.foresthaven.ca
