Niagara Falls

With deep love and profound sadness, the family of Wilda Jean Caines announces her passing. Born on June 27, 1951, in Glacé Bay, Nova Scotia, Wilda later made her home in Niagara Falls, where she built a life grounded in family, resilience, and unconditional love. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she found her greatest joy in the people she cherished.

Wilda is predeceased by her parents, William and Margaret Turner; her sister, Lynn Erdmann; her brothers, William Turner and Frank Turner; and her nephew, Richard William (Ricky) Turner, also his daughter Keisha.

She is survived by her sisters Janet Clarke, Joanne Turner, and Denise Turner, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Wilda leaves behind her three children; Gerald Douglas Jr. (Jerry) Caines (Emanuela), Geraldine (Deana) Wright (Jamie), and Kenneth Caines.

She will be deeply missed by her six grandchildren Victoria (Vito) Zandona, Nicole (Mathew) Punyi, Taylor (Anthony) DiPola, Maitlyn, Tyler, and Abby and her five great-grandchildren Aria, Amya, Kohen, Norah, and Sofia.

Wilda’s family was the heart of her life, and she embraced each of them with a warmth that made everyone feel truly loved. She will be remembered for her strength, her kindness, and the unwavering comfort she brought to those around her.

Her legacy lives on in the generations she nurtured, the memories she shaped, and the love she gave so freely. Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
