It is with great sadness the family of Wayne Mac Isaac, AKA Pepsi Wayne, announce his passing at the Regional Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family, Wayne earned his wings on December 6, 2023 at the age of 69. Wayne was born on May 15, 1954 and spent his childhood and teen years in Leitches Creek. In his later teens Wayne and his friends spent many weekends attending the Boisdale dances where he met his soulmate, Joanne. Wayne and Joanne made their home in Beaver Cove and were blessed with six beautiful children.
Wayne will be dearly missed by his wife of 42 years, Joanne (Mac Mullin), his children, Catherine (Jeremy) Slaunwhite, Matthew (Nicole), Jennie (Ken) Steffens, Joshua (Rachael), and Seumas, all residing in Halifax and Zachary, Ontario. He was also proud to be called Grampie by his two grandsons, Lachlan and Jacob. Wayne leaves to mourn his sisters and brothers, Malcolm (Brenda), Margie (Harold) Wells, Millie, Mike (Anne Marie), Reggie (Nancy), Cameron (Joan), Angus (Vanda), Theresa (Blair) Halliday, Yvonne (Glen) Hall and Karen. He is also survived by his Mother-in-law, Betty, In-laws Wilma (Dougie) MacLeod, Greg (Valerie), David (Bernice), Allison (Maxine), Clem, Robert, Joey (Mandy) and Steve Horechuk.
Besides his parents Stephen and Mary Ann, Wayne was predeceased by his sister Thelma, Father-in-law Michael Mac Mullin and nephew Neil.
Wayne was known as a hard worker and worked for over 40 years with Cape Breton Beverages. Wayne would often be referred to as a “road runner”. He made numerous trips over Barrachois Mountain for work and taking his children and wife (and anyone else who needed a drive to “town”) or wherever they needed to go. He loved a good Eagles Game. We are sure there were many times he used his favorite “four” letter word while watching these games and honestly in his everyday conversations.
Wayne was always ready to jump in and offer help to his friends and family. This help could be in the form of a visit, mowing lawns, piling wood, making kraft dinner or delivering blueberries. All of this was done quietly and from his very big heart.
A service will be held at Boisdale Fire Hall on Tuesday, December 12 at 11am, with Father Ray Huntley officiating. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.foresthaven.ca
