It is with great sadness that we, the family of Wally Corbett announce his passing at home on June 27th, 2024. Wally was born the son of the late Walter and Nancy (Crowe) Corbett of Dominion.
In Wally’s earlier years, he was employed with the maintenance department of the Cape Breton Regional Vocational School where he made many lasting friendships. He also served as a bartender in several establishments in the local area over the years.
He had a passion for music and was known to keep the dance floor full with his DJing skills in the area.
Wally served with the Kinsmen movement for many years and served as the National President for the years of 2003-2004.
Wally is survived by brothers Greg (Donna), Neil, Michael (Mary), Jake (Stella) and sister Renee (Edward) Penney. He is also survived by sister-in-law Donna as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was pre-deceased by his parents Walter and Nancy as well as brother Barry.
Wally loved his nieces and nephews and took every opportunity to joke with them.
We his family will always remember his larger than life personality and his kind and generous nature. He was always willing to help anyone and never asked for anything in return. We will miss his dearly.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens and there will be no visitation. There will be a private graveside service at a later date. A gathering to celebrate Wally's life will be held on Thursday, July 11th at the Dominion Fire Hall from 6pm to 8pm.
Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke fund or a charity of your choice.
