Born in Sydney August 20, 1947 Died in Pallitave Care Unit at Cape Breton Regional Hospital Parents  :The late  Ronald and Viola (Harte) Whalen Survived by Husband : John Son : Ron  (Cymantha) ,Calgary, Alberta Daughter: Donna-Lynn  (British Columbia) Brothers:  Kevin (Ann) Whalen , Lepreau, New Brunswick    Ron Whalen , Yarmouth   Barry (Paula) Whalen  Summerside, PEI Sisters:    Tricia Mevold   (Dartmouth)   Terry LeBlanc   (Sydney) Grandchildren : Devon, Matthew, John, Hayleigh,Addy and Beckett and one Great Grandchild. Predeceased by :Sister-in-law :Valerie Whalen (July 4,2021) Brother- law : Frank LeBlanc (June 4, 2018)

Vesta worked in retail and was the owner of Sanitary Dairy and Top Notch Convenience, Westmount.

Volunteer work at Palliative Care.
