Thomas Joseph Holder

The family is saddened to announce the sudden passing of our father, Thomas Joseph Holder on November 3, 2022, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Newcastle Creek, N.B. in 1933, he was a kind and caring father.

He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur Joseph and Marguerite (Chapman) Holder, sisters Audrey and Dorothy and his great granddaughter Jamie.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Eva (Sheppard) Holder; his three children, Rick (Shelley), Darrell (Carrie) and Jo-Anne (Tony), along with 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

In his younger years, he loved to hunt and fish. He was a loyal fan of the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. His career path included being an Officer in the R.C.A.F. and with Schwartz Furniture store where he was recognized as top salesperson many times.

The family wishes to thank the paramedics and the Palliative Care Unit staff for their compassion and professional care.

There will be no visitation or service, cremation has taken place under the guidance of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
