The family of Susan Anne Slykhuis (Warren) announce her passing on September 15, 2026 at the An Cala unit in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital after a short but courageous fight. She was the daughter of the late Albert & Winnifred (MacLeod) Warren.

Survived by husband of 46 years Bill, son Bradley (Lindsay), daughter Amanda (Jason Twardzik), grand daughter Julia, chosen children Sheryl & Torey, also survived by her sisters Debby ( Jim MacDonald), Joan (George Abbott), brothers-in-law Gerald (Louise), Robert (Mary Ellen), James (Christine) and sister-in-law Marilyn (Vince Bruzzese).

In addition to her parents, Susan was predeceased by her in-laws Gerrit and Gerda Slykhuis, grandson Kobe, chosen son J.R.

Susan was a foster mother to over 100 children and worked as a CNA.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Palliative Care or Hospice can be made in her honor.
