Richard Wayne Cooke

We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Rick due to lung transplant complications. Rick was the son of Leonard and Clara Cooke of Sydney and is survived by his wife of 43 years Audrey, sons Jason and Darren, and the light of his life granddaughter Addi. Rick is also survived by his loving mother Clara, brothers Kevin (Sheila) and Tim (Colleen), sister-in-law, Sheila Cooke. Rick is predeceased by his father Leonard, brothers David, Bruce and Sandy as well as his in-laws Jack and Margaret Buchanan.

Rick was employed as a trucker with Cooke’s Transfer along side his father and in later years with various companies in Cape Breton and out West, where he made many friends.

He was happiest enjoying the simple pleasures in life, coffee with friends, relaxing on the patio with Audrey, or talking with his brothers and buddies. Rick could be found in the backyard fixing the family car or whatever needed fixing. Helping “The Boys” out and spending time with his granddaughter Addi.

Cremation has taken place and as per Rick’s request there will be no visitation or funeral.
