It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Renee Langer, 83, of Framboise. Surrounded by loving family, Renee quietly slipped from her earthly life to joyfully rejoin her loved ones gone before her. Renee was the daughter of Mathias and Minnie (Odo) Feit of River Ryan and was predeceased by her husband Freddie Langer, Children Kevin "Nipper", Freddie, Mary Alice, many siblings and in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Renee lived a full life and loved every moment she spent with those she loved, whether it be family or friends. She was an avid card and bingo player. She was blessed to find love after losing her first husband and could always be found with her loving partner John James seeking out their friends in communities all over the island. These outings would always be topped with a visit to their favorite places, MacBouche or The Bonnie. Renee's life was enriched by those she leaves behind. Left to mourn her loving spirit are her husband John James MacLeod of Framboise, sons Billy Langer, Halifax and Earl McKay (Tracy Acheson) of Sydney, Daughters Marie McKay (Winston MacFarlane) Sydney , Marion MacKay Hamilton, Ont., and their angel on earth Chrissy Campbell who has been caretaker and friend but mostly Renee loved her like a daughter. Grandchildren April, Carmella, Billy, Holly, Thomas, Samantha, Tyler, Hunter, Jessica, Freddie and Jenna and 9 great grandchildren. She leaves behind siblings Mary Murphy, Frances MacKinnon, Chicken(Alice) Feit (all of Cape Breton) and Pauline Smithson of California. Siblings in-law Law Danelda (Earl) Drysdale, Dolena Brown, Mary (Sonny) Blackmore, Angus (Alice),MacLeod (all of Cape Breton), Peggy Mason, Dartmouth and Marina (Ron) Seifried, Ontario as well as a large extended family.
Renee felt especially fortunate to have in her life people who took extra time out of their lives to make her feel loved and appreciated, her good buddies: Danny MacLeod, Donnie Langer (nephew) , Gussie MacDonald, Gerard "Newf" Ford and Butch MacAdam.
No visitation will be held, cremation has taken place. A service will be held to honour Renee at St Leonard's parish on Friday at 10am with a reception to follow at the parish hall.
The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind xo
