Phyllis Anne Gillard

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Phyllis Anne Gillard (née Main), who passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026, at the age of 75.

Born on June 29, 1950, in Kitchener, Ontario, Phyllis made Cape Breton her home for the past 50-plus years, where she was known for her quiet kindness, love of routine, and connection to her community.

Phyllis is lovingly remembered by her husband, Allan Gillard; her son, Edward Gillard of Almonte, Ontario, and his wife Lori; and her treasured grandson, Luke.

She enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including regular visits to the Glace Bay Library, leisurely drives to Catalone, and volunteering her time with the Salvation Army kettle bells, an activity that reflected her generous spirit and care for others.

The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Glace Bay Hospital for their dedicated and compassionate care provided to Phyllis.
