With broken hearts, we share the sudden passing of our beloved Keen.

Keen had a gift for making every person she met feel seen, loved, and valued. Her devotion to her family was endless and unwavering as not only a sister, daughter, wife, and stepmother, but also a steady support, confidant, and friend to so many. Keen shared an especially close bond with each of her eight siblings, and her nieces and nephews grew up knowing her love as deeply as if she were a second mother. With her sharp wit and playful sarcasm, she kept us laughing, even in life hardest moments.

This past year was an unexpected blessing. We were able to welcome her home, where she spent time in her happiest place. She found joy in kayaking, cherished precious time with her family, and took one last walk along Sugar Loaf Beach, a place she held close to her heart.

Keen is now reunited with her husband, John Carmichael; her parents, Iris and Harold Wilkie; and her in-laws, Rolane Daisly, Theodore Fricker, Gloria Arapis Short, and Bonnie Wilkie.

She leaves behind a family who will forever carry her love in their hearts: stepdaughters Ashley and Clair Carmichael; her siblings Wanda MacKinnon, Cindy Fricker, Wilda MacDonald (Buddy), Sheldon Shorty Wilkie, Gar Wilkie, Blair Wilkie, Sherry Duguay (Don), and Brent Wilkie (Arnessa); along with her many nieces, nephews, and grand-nieces and nephews who adored her Heidi MacDonald, Jamie Fricker, Phillip MacKinnon (Lyndon, Nathan, Ethan), Jody MacDonald, Christian LeFort (Lilly), Daniel Wilkie (Rolane), Cody Wilkie (Hanna), Rya Duguay (Oliver), Blair Duguay, Jacob Wilkie (Charlie), Jade Wilkie, Adrianna Wilkie, and Kenny Wilkie (Mason).

Keen’s absence leaves an unfillable space in our lives, but her love, laughter, and light will live on in each of us forever.
