COUSINS-FOOTE Marjorie Rebecca It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother Marjorie Rebecca Cousins – Foote, 78, of Sydney Mines. Marjorie passed away peacefully on Friday, August 9, 2019, at the Northside General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Born in Sydney Mines on September 23, 1940 she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Pyke) Cousins. She leaves behind her two daughters, Cora-Lee (Maynard) McGuigan of Reserve Mines and Donna Foote, British Columbia; grandson, Christopher Foote, British Columbia; sister, Dorothy (Russie) Boutilier, Ontario; special nieces, Phylis (Adrian) O’Toole; Donna (Calvin) Anderson, both of Sydney Mines; Also, dear friends, Brenda (Lou-Lou) Marnelli and Valerie-Lynn Bradley. Besides her parents, Marjorie was predeceased by brothers, John, Charles, James, Warren, Leroy, Ernest and Reuben; sisters, Helen, Elizabeth, Lucy and Lorraine. Marjorie was well known for always being there to lend a helping hand to her family and friends at a moment’s notice, and of course her famous whipped shortbreads. In keeping with Marjorie’s wishes, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place and her remains brought home to be laid to rest at a later date. Thank you to both Dr. Michelle McKeough (Louise) and Dr. Andrew Wawer, the staff of 4-West and nurse Jenna Coleman for treating our mother with dignity, respect and compassion during her last few days. Donations in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Palliative Care Unit of the Northside General Hospital.
