The family of Marion Patricia Barrington, 73, regretfully announce that she passed away on August 13, 2026, at home. She was the daughter of Ambrose “Amos” MacNeil and Christina “Tena” (MacPhee) MacNeil.

Marion’s working career included the Coop on Victoria Road and the Woolco in Sydney River. After a period of illness, she stopped working outside the home and became a stay-at-home mother to her three children and a babysitter for many others.

Marion will be missed by her sons Shane (Shauna) and Craig (Stephanie), her grandchildren Thomas, Lucas, Benjamin, Dakota, sister Helen MacPherson, brothers Stewart (Leona), Billy (Joanne) and David, and sister-in-law Margie. Marion also had a host of nieces and nephews, as well as her ‘extended’ family, Brad, Jana, Catherine and Max (Blinkhorn) that will also miss her.

Aside from her parents, she was predeceased by daughter Angela, sister Kate Applegate (David), brother James ”Jim”, and brother- in- law Lloyd MacPherson.

Marion requested that there not be a service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
