Margaret Ann MacKinnon affectionally known as Nan, born October 6, 1941 passed away peacefully in August 5, 2026 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.

She leaves behind her beloved companions, Bella and Carlos who brought her great comfort and companionship.

Nan was predeceased by her devoted husband, John L MacKinnon, as well as her mother Margret (MacLean) Campbell and father Duncan Campbell

Nan was a life long resident of Baddeck, Victoria County. She had a deep love for her home overlooking the Bras d’Or Lakes in Baddeck, where she found great joy in her gardens and the beauty of nature. An expert quilter, she poured her creativity, patience, and love into everything she made. Her quilts were not simply works of art, but expressions of love that will remain cherished.

Nan will be sadly missed as she was an attentive and caring friend to all who knew her. She had a warm presence and a genuine interest in others, leaving a lasting impression on the many people whose lives she touched.

Cremation has taken place. A private burial will take place at a future date.
