Lucy Adelaide Bersuk

It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Aunt Lucy, 80, on Sunday February 19, 2023. She was born Lucy Adelaide Bersuk on January 22, 1943 in Sydney. She was the eldest daughter of Peter and Tilly (Robicheau) Bersuk.

Lucy lived most of her younger years in Toronto with her husband Ernie Muise. They made many lifelong friends there with whom she always kept in touch. They retired to Cape Breton to be closer to family in the 90’s.

Lucy was a feisty, spirited lady, a talented singer/songwriter and a wonderful friend to so many. She had a witty sense of humor and loved good banter with anyone who would dish it back at her. She loved all of the family pets especially her beloved cat Maggie. She will be missed by all of us.

Lucy was the last surviving member of her family. She was predeceased by her parents, and husband, siblings Marie MacIntyre, infant brother PJ Bersuk, Dorothy Bersuk, and Anne Gillis.

Lucy is survived by her nieces, Susan Tanner, Donna Simpson, Cheryl Umba, Karen MacIntyre, Gayle MacIntyre, and nephew Andy MacIntyre, as well as many grand-nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her wonderful friend Audrey Pyke and cherished cousin Cookie Johnston. You were both so special to her, she enjoyed your company. Thank you also to 4East Northside General Hospital for the compassionate and loving care shown to her during her short stay. Donations in Lucy’s memory may be made to the SPCA.

Cremation has taken place. As per her wishes, no service will be held. Expressions of sympathy may be
