Celebration of Life to begin following the funeral service.
It is with deepest regret to announce the passing of Lori Ann Burt-Bragg on Friday, June 26, 2026 at Victoria County Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loved ones, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.
Originally from Grand Falls, Newfoundland, a brief stop at the ferry terminal made her a Caper, where she met the love of her life Wayne, who she leaves to mourn in their home in Middle River.
Predeceased by her parents, James Melvin Burt and Cavelle (Ellis) Burt, her grandparents, and her fur baby Odie.
Leaving to mourn her husband Wayne, her pride and joy, “her boy”, Jimmy (Sherbrooke), brother Darrow (Bishop Falls), Darren (St. John’s), and fur babies, Bailey and Daisy, as well as many aunts and uncles.
With an infectious laugh like she had, combined with her huge heart we could list people she loved for days… from coworkers, friends, even strangers, who would give her the time of day to chat. She made sure they would crack a smile whoever it may be.
She prided herself in serving the department of transportation for many years in a variety of roles from snow plow operator, crewman operator, to most recently base person, where you would always find her with a big smile and a friendly wave.
She grew fond of her coworkers from over the years whom she was sure to share a laugh or two (maybe even three). The rivalry pranks over the years always gave a good story to tell, even if it wasn’t funny at the time.
A very heartfelt thank you to Dr. Erica Declemente (friend, some may say) for the care over the years for both her and Wayne, Dr. John Ritter, Paulette, Levin, Sharon Parsons and the nurses at VCMH, as well as the rest of the staff, for the upmost, grace, courage, and compassion that Lori has been shown in the last few months. This will never be forgotten.
A special thank you to her best friend, Shelley, and Lori’s son by choice Alexander, for their lasting memories, Sure to be cherished for a long time. As well as a dear friend, Charlene MacNeil, for her kindness and friendship over the years.
A brief service will be held in the United Church in Middle River on July 16, 2026 at 4 PM followed by a celebration of life to follow at the Middle River Hall. Come share a story, a memory, even a laugh, the way she would like to be celebrated.
We hope the dogs snuggle is warm and the Christmas lights are as bright up there as you could have ever hoped, We miss you Lori.
