It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth Charles MacKinnon (Kenny) on April 10 2026. Born in New Waterford on March 21, 1966, he was the youngest son of Gordon MacKinnon and Phillis Mackinnon (deceased). He is survived by his only son Brandon Mackinnon (Red deer, Alberta), brother Ray and nephew Kenny (New Waterford). Predeceased by brother Dougie.

Kenny spent much of his life around horses, racing and training them. Horses were his passion and he dedicated most of his life to the racetrack. He spent his childhood and teenage years racing and training at tartan downs (Sydney) before moving to Ontario. He lived in Ontario (Rookwood) for nearly 20 years racing at tracks such as Woodbine, Mohawk and Flambro downs. In Kenny's younger years he worked at Fat Boys pizza. In his later years he worked at Big Daddies pizza in New Waterford making some of the best pizza Nova Scotia has to offer. He enjoyed hitting the links whenever he could with his son Brandon. No fairway was safe from Kenny. He loved the game of darts as well and was known for his accuracy and talent. Whether for fun or competition, he excelled at darts and truly enjoyed the game.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no service as requested.
