It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Katherine E. (Farrell) Sullivan on Monday, May 10, 2021 at the CBRH following a lengthy battle with pulmonary fibrosis.
Born in Glace Bay she was the daughter of the late Leo and Christina (MacKay) Farrell. She was a devoted member of St. Anne’s Parish.

A graduate of the CB Business College, she worked at the G.B. Credit Union for 16 years,followed by 16 years with Devco. She always said “the best years of her life were working at Phalen Colliery.” Katherine’s kindness had no boundaries, she touched many lives and has left an imprint in many hearts. She was an all round special lady. Katherine is survived by the love of her life,her devoted husband of 56 years, Daniel Jude, her loving daughter Danielle (Eugene Tate) and only grandchild, light of her life, Sonya Gene Tate,Halifax, N.S.One sister Judy (Rod) MacDonald Truro, N.S. one Sister-In-Law, Carmel Cody, New Market,Ont., and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by a sister Bernadette, brothers Leo (in infancy),Tommy (Florence), Wayne (Doris) and Jimmy. Mother and father-in-law Rita and Ossie Sullivan, and brother-in-law Ryan (Marjorie).The family would like to thank Dr. Jamie MacLean, receptionist Shauna, Dr. Bernice Diaz, The VON, nieces, nephews and the wonderful relatives, neighbours and friends for the comfort, love and support during her illness.

Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens. Due to COVID restrictions, a mass to celebrate her life and a funeral service will be held at St.Anne’s church at a later date.In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lung Association or Heart & Stroke Foundation.
