We, the family, are saddened to announce the passing of John Robert Smith, age 85, on September 26, 2026.

John was born on June 17, 1941, to William and Christine Smith, lovingly known as Nan and Billy, of Windsor Street, Sydney, Nova Scotia.

John was predeceased by his parents, his two wives, Norma and Connie Smith; his brother, Roddy Smith; his sister, Tina Smith; and his beloved granddaughter, Lori-Anne.

He leaves behind his sister, Catherine Brookman; his daughters, Ann Allen (Jim) and Paula Smith; and his grandchildren, Justin Allen and Jessica Allen.

John held a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and his beloved great-grandson, Adam, who were truly the shining stars in his life. The love he had for his family was immeasurable, and the memories shared with him will forever be treasured by those who were fortunate enough to know and love him.

John will be remembered with love and missed more than words can express. Though his passing leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of his family, his memory will live on through the stories shared, the moments cherished, and the love he leaves behind.

Cremation has taken place, and burial will take place at Forest Haven Memorial Gardens on Thursday, October 8th at 11am.
