Jennie Brown

It is with sadness that we announce that Jennie Brown, 100, of Sydney, Nova Scotia, passed away on February 18th, 2024. She was born on August 4, 1923, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, to the late James and Elizabeth (Donahue) Cameron.

Jennie is survived by her loving sons, Barry Brent (Patricia) Brown, Calvin

James (Debbie) Brown, and Douglas Arthur (Lars) Brown and daughter-in-law Tasha (Bruce) Brown. She was a cherished grandmother to her grandchildren: Adam Barry (Christine) Brown, Andrea Patricia (Matthew) Brown, Jason Brenton Brown, Marishka Ilona Jennie Brown, Justin Antonio Bruce (Jordan) Brown, Aaron Ryan Brown, Crystal Ann Brown, Jennifer Lynn (Daryn) Szumik nee Brown, Vanessa Marie Brown; great-grandchildren Mitchell, Amanda, Caitlin, Meghan, Victoria, Willow, MaKayla, Lucas, Dylan, Colby, Phoenyx, Lulu, Sierra, James; great-great granddaughter Lillian and many nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Brenton Brown, son Bruce John (Tasha) Brown, brother Thomas James (Annie Mae) Cameron, and nieces Marilyn MacDonnell and Lynn-Ann Cameron.

The family would also like to express sincere appreciation to the staff of Fisherman Cove, Harbourstone Enhanced Care, for the care, devotion and affection they exercised without fail toward Jennie and we offer all of you our condolences.

A private family gathering will be held to celebrate Jennie's life at a later time. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to a charity of your choice in Jennie's memory.
