Jamesena (Jamey) Joyce Gagne, 75, of Glace Bay, NS, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026.
She was born on July 3, 1951 in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, moving to Glace Bay at a young age where she lived most of her life. Jamey will always be remembered for the love she had for her children and family, and especially her grandchildren. She was proud to be known by Grammy, Gramma, and Nana. She was well known for taking people under her wing when they needed someone, throwing together an amazing meal out of whatever she had in the house, and for always having music and laughter in her home.
She is survived by her loving children Paula Campbell (Robbie) and Jennifer Forster (Frederick), her niece Lauren MacLeod (Jayme) who was like a daughter to her, her wonderful grandchildren Joshua Campbell, Jeremy Campbell, and Calvin Block, her grandnephews Nathan MacLeod (Peyton) and Daniel Rizzo whom she treated like her own and they lovingly called her Nana. Jamey is also survived by and will be lovingly remembered by her siblings Harla O’Neill, Kathy MacLeod, and Gordie McKillop, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her mother and stepfather Jeanne and Ken McKillop, sister Peggy Goulden & brother Jimmy McKillop.
At the request of the family, there will not be a service. In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Alzheimer Society of Canada or to Diabetes Canada. The family would also like to thank the nurses and doctors at both the Palliative Care Unit at the Regional Hospital and Harbourstone Enhanced Care.
