James Elmo Hawco

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of James 'Elmo' Hawco. Born 17 February 1938 in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Elmo passed away peacefully at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital on 18 February 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Elmo is survived by his daughter Julie, sons James (Debbie), Allen (Dodie), Dave (Laura), and Craig (Lisa) as well as many Grand Children and Great Grandchildren. Elmo will also be missed by his siblings Inez, Errol, and Sandra, all from Sydney, Nova Scotia.

Elmo was predeceased by his first wife Pat (Corbett) and second wife Anne (Mckenna), parents, James Elmo Hawco and Inez (Weatherbee), sisters Arlene MacKinnon, Gloria Maglario, Rose Donald, brother Roger and son Tom. Elmo was a dedicated self employed driver for Snow White Laundry for 42 years.

At Elmo’s request, there will be no service. Cremation has taken place under the guidance of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.
