With his loving family by his side Gordon left this world, Wednesday November 2
2022 in the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. Born in Sydney NS, March 15 1928, he
was the son of John Ervin and Jessie (MacVicar) Canning. Gordon worked for Lynk
Electric Ltd then moved on to become the Chief Electrical Inspector for the City of
Sydney until his retirement in 1992. He was predeceased by his seven brothers
Raymond, John, Earl, Harry, Ervin, Norman (Fat), and Ralph and his only sister
Anna. Gordon will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 69 years Olive (Primmer)
and daughters Cathy Mullins, Alec Kyte, Karen Kyte (Roy) and Lynn Wall (Glen). Also surviving
are grandchildren Mike Mullins (Michelle), Steve Mullins, Larissa Smardon,
Destiny Smardon (Kody), Ryan Wall (Jenny), Eric Wall, Evan Wall (Alexis) Olivia
Wall (Kinnon), Caroline Wall (Karsen) And great-grandchildren Josh, Jessica,
Ethan, Jake, Callie, Aden, Aleigha, Amelia, Daxen and Josie. A service will be held at Forest Haven on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 2 pm.
