George "Andre" Pottie

George Andrew Pottie, age 82, passed away peacefully at MacGillivray Guest Home, Sydney on December 1, 2020.
Andre was born in L’Ardoise Nova Scotia, the son of the late George and Catherine Pottie. He was raised with his brothers Richard, Francis, Victor, Leroy, Lauchie, Joseph, Cyril and sisters Cassie, Cecelia and Jane.
Andre left L’Ardoise as a young man to travel and work abroad, eventually settling into a long career as a printer with the Toronto Star. Andre held a strong bond  with family and after retirement, returned home to Cape Breton to enjoy his passions for food, wine, music, spirituality and the celebration of life with family and friends.
Andre has been cremated as per his wish and a private graveside burial will be held at a later date.
Donations, in Andre’s memory, can be made to MacGillivray Guest Home where he was well cared for by nurses and staff.
