It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Felix Sidney Hatcher (Sid) on August 1st, 2025.

Born in North Sydney in 1941, Sid was the son of Felix and Grace Hatcher.

Sid worked at Marine Atlantic for 37 years, with the Commissionaires for 16 years and was a member of the Orange Order for 60 plus years.

Sid is survived by his wife of 35 years Laurie (Wall), sons David (Georgina) and Berkeley (Kelly), daughters Traci (Dwight) and Nicole. Brother Cyril (Bernice) and sister Diane (Greg), brothers-in-law Tommy, David, Berkeley and Robert Wall. Sisters-in-law Carole and Evelyn as well and nine grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Sid also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, his best friend Ken who was his right-hand man and his ex-wife Carol MacLeod.

Besides his parents, Sid was predeceased by his sisters Edna, Queenie and Dorothy, brother Kenneth and in-laws Louis & Evelyn Wall.

We would like to thank Julia for her amazing compassion over the last year. And the rest of the Palliative Care family, and the staff at the North Side General Hospital.

As per Sid’s request, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A graveside service will take place at a later date.
