Edward “Eddie” Stephen Seymour, born in Glace Bay on October 19, 1946, passed away on January 22, 2023, peacefully and lovingly surrounded by family. Eddie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Rita Katherine Seymour, his sons, Edward Seymour (wife Cindy) and Ernest Seymour (wife Elizabeth), his grandchildren Madonna, Jamie, Edward, Nicolas, Kodey, Izabel, Alivea, Gabby, Xavier, and Trenton, his great-grandson Cole, and his brother Robert and sister Deborah (husband Sean deceased, and godfather to Sean Jr). At the age of 17, Eddie met the love of his life, Rita Katherine O’Brien and started his own family. He was a hardworking man who spent his life ensuring that his family was taken care of. He loved classic country music and spending time with family and friends. Edward loved to laugh and had an unforgettable sense of humor.

A Celebration of Life for Edward will be held at the Sergeant’s Mess on Sunday, January 29 at 2pm.

Thank you to all who showed us love and support through this difficult time. Your thoughts, prayers, and presence in Edward’s life will forever be in our hearts. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the doctors and nursing staff at Cape Breton Regional Hospital and Forest Haven for their kindness and care in supporting our family.

“May the winds of heaven blow softly and whisper in your ear how much we love and miss you and wish that you were here. Your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure”
