It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy “Dorrie” Florence Timmons (nee Young), who was born on March 12, 1939, at the City Hospital in Sydney, Nova Scotia, to the late Cecilia and George Young.

Dorrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She leaves behind her devoted husband, David Timmons, and her sister, Lee MacMullin, as well as her nephew, Brad MacMullin.

She will be lovingly remembered by her three children, Marylee Drake (Darcy), Todd Ferguson (Margie) and Michelle Fraser (Ronnie).

Dorrie was a proud grandmother to her ten grandchildren; Erin (Darryl), Krystin (Dean), Braden, Caitlyn (Josh), Logan, Alicia (Sam), Sarah (Scott), Emily, Jaden (Keyaira) and Tristen (Reese).

Her greatest joy was her family. She leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren – Bailey, Jayla, Brady, Ethan, Jayce, Harper, Lucas, Sophie, Ella, Beckham and Paisley – and one great-great-grandchild Gianna.

Dorrie was predeceased by Karrie MacKenzie.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to The Cove Guest Home and all of the staff who cared for Dorrie over the past eight years. We are deeply thankful for the kindness, compassion, patience and care they showed her throughout her time there. Your support and dedication meant so much to Dorrie and to our entire family, and we will always be grateful for the care you provided.

Mom’s world was her children and grandchildren. They were the centre of her heart, and her greatest pride and joy. Her love for her family was unwavering, and the memories she created with them will be cherished forever.

Dorrie will be deeply missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Though she is no longer with us, her love, laughter and memory will live on through the generations of family she leaves behind.
