The family of Donnie Robertson,77, of Howie Centre, regret to announce his untimely passing on June 9, 2024.
Donnie was the son of the late Lawrence and Mary (MacDonald) Robertson and he leaves a grieving family especially sons Ronnie, Westmount; Jason (Aly), Bonnyville, Alberta; Brian Walker, Sydney and Stephen Walker, Toronto. Donnie is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Baylee, Mitchel, Sarah, Jenna, Barrett, Emma, Colby, Rachel, Cody and Dacton. He sadly leaves one great grandson, Nathan.
Also mourning the loss of their loving brother are sister Joan (Klaus) Krombholz, Vancouver and brothers Allan (Margaret), Sydney River and Phonse (Doreen), Ottawa. Also surviving are in-laws Gerry Smith, Maureen Robertson, Lisa Burchell (Brenda), Sheila (Bobby) Curry, Buzz (Mary) Burton, Charles (Jeanie) Burchell and Gary Burchell. A very special and loving niece, Katelynn Curry, also survives.
Donnie was pre deceased by his wife, Sandra; sisters Trudy and Rose; brothers Terry, Larry and Jack; daughter-in-law, Paula; sisters in-law, Jackie, Joanne and Sharon.
Donnie enjoyed a lengthy career in various facets of grocery business in Sydney and Glace Bay, managing a number of outlets including his latest position with Atlantic Cash and Carry, Sydney.
Donnie was a lover of the great outdoors and was an experienced hunter, fisherman and trapper and thoroughly enjoyed four-wheeling. His favourite indoor activity was darts but nothing brought him as much joy as the past 37 years camping at MacKinnon’s Campground at beautiful Lake Ainslie.
Cremation has taken place and, as was his wish, there will be no visitation or service.
