David Maxwell Richards

David Maxwell Richards, 77, passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, surrounded by his family. 

Born in Sydney, Nova Scotia, on March 13, 1948, he was the son of Alice (MacLean) Richards and Roland Richards. 

David was known for his big personality, quick wit, and sense of humor. He worked at IBM for 42 years, where he made many lifelong friendships. After retirement, he gave his time generously through the Lions Club and enjoyed staying active in his community. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Richards (Carter), his daughters, Carrie Richards and Amy Richards (Kyle Little), and his sisters, Cheryl MacIntyre and Carolyn Degg. He was predeceased by his parents, Alice and Roland Richards, and his brother, Blair Richards.

 In keeping with David’s wishes, there will be no funeral or service. Donations in his memory may be made to Special Olympics Canada.

 David will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
