With broken hearts, we are devastated to announce the passing of David Garfield "Gary" Conron, 56, of Glace Bay, NS, suddenly, on September 25, 2026.

Gary had recently been diagnosed with cancer. He had just started treatment, and he was positive and excited about fighting for his future.

Born in Glace Bay on March 2, 1970, Gary was the son of Mary "Chuckie" Duff (Mischiek), the late Raymond Conron, and step-son of Leona Conron.

Gary is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 19 years, Jennifer, his brothers Raymond (Vickie), Jim (Linda), Andrew, sisters Raylene (Darrell) and Andrea (Todd), and predeceased by his brother, Terry.

Gary will be lovingly remembered by his step-siblings Greg (Cathy), Rachelle (Mike), and Mark (Alice) and their families. He will also be missed by Dawn (Blair), his family-in-law, and many good friends, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Gary graduated from the Cape Breton Regional Hospital School of Nursing in 1993. He worked as a Registered Nurse for a short time in Cape Breton before moving to St. Catharines, Ontario, where he met Jen. Gary and Jen were married in 2006, and enjoyed many years in Ontario before moving home in 2022.

An avid and enthusiastic fisherman, Gary also loved camping, baseball, billiards, Mustangs, going for drives, music, meeting people, gambling and poker, and spending time with Jen and their dog Kirby. Gary loved playing Tour Guide for visiting friends and family, and he would always chat with tourists and give them tips for all the best spots to visit.

A selfless, kind, generous and gentle man, Gary lit up every room he entered, and made friends easily wherever he went.

Gary's wishes were for no service to be held. Cremation has been entrusted to Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.

A special thank you to the First Responders who gave their all trying to save Gary. He will be missed every day.
