Clara Bernice
Cooke
November 27, 1930 – April 21, 2026
With broken hearts we regret to announce the peaceful passing of Clara Bernice Cooke, of Sydney River, daughter of the late George and Thalia Wyman, on April 21st, at the age of 95.
Everyone who knew Clara knew how much family meant to her. She enjoyed socializing, family gatherings, playing cards and road trips. Clara was a member of TOPS, Al-anon and the Red Hat Society to mention a few. Its hard to put into words the way Clara lived her life and treated those around her. It was just in the fabric of her being, every day, always as steady and warm as the sunshine.
She has a special direct and never-ending connection to pure joy, love and positivity. She leaves a void no one else can fill, and for those of us that were held tenderly in her love, we will never forget all that she has done for us.
She is survived by sons Kevin (Shelia) and Tim (Colleen), daughters-in-law Audrey and Sheila, grandchildren Amanda (Tommy) Steele, Amy (Chris) Rhynold, Christopher (Rachel), Michael, Jason, Darren, Kelsey, Kyle (Maddy), Beverly (Carl) Swan, James, Adele (Dave Flahr) and Amber (Alex), great-grandchildren Dylan, Emma, Morgan, Jesse, Luke, Addie, Rylan, Harper, Nellie, Tye, Logan, Connor, Isla and Sadie as well as great-great grandson Michael. Clara also leaves behind her sister Barbara Betts, brother Charles (Helen), brother-in-law Gordon Bauer and extended family member Neila Buchanan (Brian)
She is predeceased by her husband Leonard, sons David, Bruce (Marlene), Ricky and Sandy, brother Clive Wyman and sister Thelma Bauer.
As per Clara’s wishes there will be no visitation. Graveside service will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
We would like to thank the doctors and staff of 4-D and Palliative Care for the loving care provided to Clara over the past 2 months.
