Carolyn Jane MacGillivary

We regret to announce the passing of our mother Carolyn Jane (MacDougall) MacGillivary on June 15, 2025 at the Northside General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Sydney Mines on January 22, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Katherine (Gillis) MacDougall . Mom was a member of the CWL of Immaculate Conception church for many years. She raised her children plus was a caregiver to her mother and then to her uncle. She is survived by one son Bernard ( Dartmouth) and daughters Cathy ( Rob McNaught) and Theresa ( Sydney Mines) . She is also survived by her granddaughter Katie MacGillivray whom she loved dearly and was very proud of. She is survived by close family friend Irene (Bailey) Selfridge plus numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Gerald Francis MacGillivray, daughter-in-law Dana ( Dicks), her sister Mamie Douglas and Uncle Roderick ( Wawa) Gillis. We would like to thank Dr. Eugene Ignacio snd the staff at Northside General Hospital. We would also like thank her sitters Maureen and Tracey for the care and laughter you gave her , thank you does not seem like enough. As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
