Carl Peter MacKenzie, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on September 7, 2026.

He was the son of the late Irene Brewer Byrne and Blennie MacKenzie and was the loving husband of Arlene.

Carl was a carpenter by trade and was someone who could easily tackle many other jobs as well. He had a wealth of knowledge about world affairs and was always happy to share his expert opinions and advice with those willing to listen. Carl enjoyed watching the Steelers play, was a devoted Yankees and Bruins fan, and especially enjoyed his trips to warm destinations.

Carl will be dearly missed by his wife, Arlene; sons Casey (Kristin) and Dylan; and his furry companion, Louie. He will also be missed by his siblings Mick, Susan, Lisa (Alex), Ricky (Yvonne), and Darlene, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Carl was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Lila Casey; brothers-in-law Ricky Walton, Lorne Casey, and Wally Locke.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14, 2026, at St. John’s/St. Anne’s Cemetery, Wallace Road, Glace Bay.

Carl will be remembered with love and deeply missed by all who knew him.
