With much sadness we announce the passing of Bryan George Schmidt of New Waterford, on July 5th, 2026 after a short struggle with cancer.

Born in Kitchener, Ontario on November 11,1946, Bryan was one of three children of George and Ella Schmidt.

During his life he was in the Canadian Regiment of Guards and following his time in the military, a proud member of the Famous Scout House Drum Core.

Bryan loved golf and could be seen at the Passchendale Golf Course on a regular basis. He took great pride in his gardening skills and enjoyed working on his lawn care. He was an avid reader and a faithful follower of championship golf on television.

Bryan is the last member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Barbara Risser of London Ontario and Patricia Luzon of Chatham Ontario.

Left to mourn are his partner of 24 years, Wanda MacDonnell and son David Schmidt (Ashley) in Brampton Ontario.

As per his request, cremation has taken place with no visitation or church service.
