Brian Francis DeCoste

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Brain Francis DeCoste on May 15, 2024 at 68 years. Born in Glace Bay (New Aberdeen), he was the oldest son of the late William Francis DeCoste and Dolena Marie (Briand) of Glace Bay. He was a member of St. John’s Church and later St. Anne’s Parish. 

Brian is survived by his daughter: Heather (Philip); grandchildren: Alexa, Logan, and Dylan; Sisters: Barbara Jean Riess (Harry) and Debbie O’Neill, Brother: Kenny; Aunt Sharon (Briand) O’Keefe. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 

Besides his parents, Brian was predeceased by his sister Donna, brothers-in-law William(Billie) Borden and Cotter Kelly; Nieces: Sherrie-Lee, Angela, and Grand-Niece Madison; Grandparents: Alexander and Jane (MacEachern) DeCoste, and Annie(Campbell) and Hugie Briand.

Brian was passionate about cars. He enjoyed driving cars, trading them, and admiring them. He never passed a dealership without browsing. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to your local SPCA. 

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens; there will be no funeral service. Interment at St. John’s/ St. Anne’s Parish Cemetery to take place at a later date.
