It is with great sadness that we the family, announce the peaceful passing of Barbara Joan (Campbell) MacMullin, on Friday, June 27th, 2025, at the Northside General Hospital with her daughter Lynda by her side.
Barbara was born in Florence on February 1st 1947. Ma will be remembered for her quick with and funny sense of humor. Ma was an avid baker and was well known for her date squares and pancakes, though she excelled in all aspects of baking.
Ma also enjoyed a good game of 45’s with her family. Over the years Ma played on dart leagues and loved a night out to Bingo. She also enjoyed a good hockey game (Montreal Canadiens) or a good Blue Jays ball game. You always knew she was watching as she would be hollering at the TV.
Barbara worked for the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board for 34 years as a groundskeeper (lunch lady). Well known to many children throughout the communities.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, John (Stemmer) MacMullin of Florence. Her daughter Lynda, son Stuart (Michelle), grandchildren Nathan (Emma), Joseph, John Wilson, Alana, Rachelle and Royce. Barb is also survived by her sister-in-law, Odille Campbell, along with many nieces and nephews.
Barbara was predeceased by her loving parents, Edward and Agnes (Millar) Campbell, youngest children, Keith MacMullin (Duffer) brothers Raymond, William and Thomas, sister Linda, mother and father-in-law Daniel and Evelyn MacMullin.
A heartfelt thank you to Cape Breton County homemakers, especially the girls Dawn R., Angie, Brenda, Sharon, Dawn B., Patricia, Tara, Tammy, Vera, Cathy and Victoria.
Ma loved to torment, carry on and have a good laugh with all the girls.
A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Wawer as well as the wonderful nurses and staff on 4 West at the Northside General Hospital.
Upon request, there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held on July 6th from 12-2pm at Florence Fire Hall.
