We the family of Annie Payne of Glace Bay announce her passing on Thursday August 13th at Seaview Manor with her daughter by her side.
Born February 2nd 1934 in Rose Blanche NL, Annie was the daughter of Henry and Hannah Parsons. She is survived by her daughter Janice, grandchildren Jennifer (Stephen), Emily and Ashley. Annie shared a special bond with her nephew Joey Parsons and special family friend Michele Rose whom she considered a second daughter.
Annie moved to Nova Scotia as a teenager where she met and married Arthur Roy “Buddy“ Payne in 1956. They worked side by side for over 20 years at Sally Ann Bakery.
After their retirement they enjoyed hosting family and friends at home and at their bungalow in Port Morien where they had many fond memories.
Annie was predeceased by her husband Buddy, her parents Henry and Hannah, her sister Meta Robblee of Foxboro MA, her brother Henry of Glace Bay and her brother David of Calgary.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff of Seaview Manor for their care and compassion, and also to Dr. Baxendale and Dr. Giorno at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital.
There will be a service Wednesday August 19th at 2 pm in St. Mary’s Anglican Church Glace Bay followed by refreshments and internment of Annie and Buddy in Forest Haven Memorial Gardens in Sydney.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
