It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Andrew (Boo) Charles Mauger of Port Morien on August 21, 2026, with his family by his side. Andrew was born on March 20, 1963, in Glace Bay to Marie and Russell Mauger.

Andrew was a jack of all trades. In his early years, he worked as a carpenter building houses, as a fisherman long-lining, as a scaffold foreman with Local 1588 in Alberta, and as a safety officer. He finished his career as an operator with Nova Scotia Transportation and Infrastructure and Renewal.

Andrew was an incredible dart player, winning many tournaments over the years. He was a volunteer firefighter in Port Morien and a member of the Marconi Trailblazers ATV Club. He loved hunting and fishing and was the biggest Boston Bruins fan we know, but his favourite title was “Grampy.”

Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Lou (Wadden); his daughters, Holly (Ryan) Prendergast and Kristen (Andy) Li; and his three grandchildren, Nathan, Olivia, and Xavier.

Andrew is also survived by his parents, Russell and Marie Mauger; siblings, Wayne (Michelle) Mauger, Dale Mauger (Laura Lee Higgins), Jean (Art) Pink, Laura Mauger (Edmond Boyer), and Russell (Kim) Mauger; sisters-in-law, Anne (Wayne) Graham and Audrey (Wilf) Kelloway; brother-in-law, Gerard Wadden; and many nieces and nephews.

Cremation has taken place under the care of Forest Haven Memorial Gardens, with a family service to take place at a later date.

The family would like to thank the amazing ICU and Respiratory staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Dr. Sarah MacIsaac, Respirologist, Dr. Odumosu, and Dr. Lazovskis. A special thank you to family, friends, and close neighbours for your support, love, and generosity.
