Sydney

Alexis Mary Rhodenizer (Edwards), a vibrant soul with a heart full of love, passed away at 91. Born on August 29, 1933, in Sydney Mines, NS, she left behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.

Lexie was the daughter of James and Anna-Jane Edwards, and though she outlived many loved ones, including her husband Keith and siblings Janie Robinson (John), Margie Covey (Jim), Josephine Willett (Charles), James, Mabel MacKeigan (Willie), Charles (Helena), Rachel (John Roderick), Alex (Lesina), John (Shirley) and Annie-Mae (Jim), her spirit remained unbroken.

A talented and creative woman, Lexie found joy in nurturing her gardens, pickling her own goods, and sewing beautiful quilts. Her love for animals was boundless, especially for her loyal companion Jellybean, who stood by her side until the end. Lexie also had many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews she loved and had great relationships with, who will miss her dearly.

Lexie's kitchen was a hub of warmth, filled with the aromas of her delicious cooking and baking. She was a woman of great humor and heart, often laughing and playing pranks on those around her. Music and good company were her passions, and she loved nothing more than sharing stories and memories with loved ones.

Juanita was Lexie’s niece, but Auntie called her the borrowed daughter. Juanita was Lexie’s caretaker for the past 7 years and loved her like a mom. Auntie loved living with Juanita and her family. Lexie's family was her rock, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her kindness, patience, and fierce love will be deeply missed.

Cremation has taken place, and Auntie will be going to the Valley to be with her beloved Keith. Life celebration will be at a later date.
